How to transfer your contacts to a new device.

There are a few methods you can use to transfer your contacts to a new device. To help, we created an easy step-by-step guide to follow, depending on your device.

Google Account (Android to Android)

  1. Sync Contacts on Old Device:
    • Open ”Settings” on your old device.
    • Go to ”Accounts” > Google > [Your Google Account].
    • Ensure ”Contacts Sync” is enabled.
    • Tap ”Sync” to make sure all contacts are up to date.
  2. Set Up New Device:
    • On your new device, sign in with the same Google account you used during the setup process.
    • Your contacts will automatically sync to your new device.

iCloud (iPhone to iPhone)

  1. Sync Contacts on Old Device:
    • Open ”Settings” on your old iPhone.
    • Tap [Your Name] > iCloud.
    • Ensure ”Contacts” is toggled to the "On" position.
    • Tap ”iCloud Backup” > Back Up Now.
  2. Set Up New Device:
    • On your new iPhone, sign in with your Apple ID during the setup process.
    • Choose "restore from an iCloud backup," and your contacts will be transferred.

Other

  1. Export Contacts:
    • On your old device, open the ”Contacts” app.
    • Go to ”Settings” > Export and save your contacts as a vCard (.vcf) file.
  2. Transfer File:
    • Email the vCard file to yourself or use a file-sharing service.
  3. Import Contacts:
    • On your new device, open the email or file-sharing app and download the vCard file.
    • Open the Contacts app and go to ”Settings” > Import to add your contacts from the vCard file.
