How do I keep my current phone number?
We understand that keeping your current number is important to you. Follow these easy steps to transfer (or "port") your number to Assurance Wireless.
Step 1: Get Started
Before starting the transfer, have the following details ready:
- Your Account Number from Your Current Provider
This is usually found on your current provider’s bill or account dashboard. - Port-out Pin
You will need to call your current carrier and ask them to provide this. - Phone Number
Make sure you know the specific number you want to bring to Assurance Wireless.- Your current phone number should still be active with your current provider.
- Back-up
We recommend backing up your contacts, voicemail and text messages to ensure you keep all of your important information.
If you're not sure about any of these details, contact your current phone provider for help.
Step 2: Start the Number Transfer
Have the information above ready. Then, once you’ve received your new device or SIM card from Assurance Wireless, contact the Assurance Wireless Support Team from a different phone at 1-888-321-5880 to begin the transfer process. They’ll ask for the following:
- The account details you collected from your current provider.
- Your Assurance Wireless account information.
From there, our team will handle the request and keep you updated.
