What Are My Phone Options?

If you live outside of California, please see the other states' guidelines.

When you sign up for LifeLine through Assurance Wireless, you have a few options when it comes to phones. Here's a quick overview of the phone options available to our customers:

  1. Bring Your Own Phone: If you prefer to use a phone you already own, just make sure to check that it's compatible with Assurance Wireless.
    • Your device must be unlocked and compatible with the Assurance Wireless network.
    • Check your phone compatibility by entering your IMEI number in our compatibility checker.
  2. Free, Basic Smartphone: You can choose to receive a free, basic Smartphone from Assurance Wireless if you prefer or if you don't have an existing phone to bring.
    • The free phone comes with standard features to help you call, text, browse the web and use apps.
    • Models vary and depend on availability.
  3. Upgrade Phones: If you currently have Assurance Wireless service and would like to purchase a new phone, visit our Online Store to explore options.

How to Get Started

New Customers

If you're a new customer, you’ll have the option during your application to either bring your own phone or receive a free, basic Smartphone.

  • If you selected to bring your own phone and you’ve been approved, we will either send you a SIM Card or eSIM to activate your new service.
  • If you selected to receive a free, basic Smartphone and you’ve been approved, we will send your phone within 2 business days to activate your new service.

Existing Customers

If you're an existing customer looking to purchase a new phone, log in to your account and select "Purchase New Phone" to review your options or contact Customer Care at 1-888-321-5880.

The online phone store is operated by Quality One Wireless, an Assurance Wireless authorized dealer. See terms on their website.
